Artist: WeeGee.

WeeGee is a very odd photographer but that is what makes his art stand out.
The fact that his photography is based only off of crimes in New York, specifically murders brought much of the crime world to the publics eyes. I can see his photography as a sort of graphic art. He’s showing death and that is what he became famous for, he was the only Night crawler at the time that would venture to dangerous parts of the city to get his photos. That’s very inspiring because he risked so much to just get those photos. Even though he is mostly known for murder photos he also took regular photography as well and it was very odd. I like how he would set up odd shots and make them look like it was just meant to be, he brought things together that weren’t “normal” and that was his signature. He makes me feel that being extremely odd can still make beautifully done pictures. Personally I’m not super interested in his photo style. I know I couldn’t put myself in that many odd/ dangerous situations but it definitely gives you some inspiration for it. I think his work showed me that whatever you choose to do, you’re choosing to love it and express yourself in it. It doesn’t have to be popular to everyone; it just has to be interesting to you.
