Shape and Form

SHAPE

This can be any closed shape. It doesn’t matter if it’s a bird, or a plane, or Superman, it is a two-dimensional representation of something we recognize. A sihouette is a shape. To me it's a plain photo that we use our imagination to fit in the details and we can create our own image.

FORM

Form refers to when shape takes on three dimensions. Form is created by shadows and highlights on an object in the photograph. Form to me is when a photo pops out to the viewer and the image expresses its whole self.
